Click on Sign Up (the blue button here) to get started. Follow the instructions from there. Once you’ve created an account you can start creating your Yodio slideshows by clicking on the “User Settings” tab at the top

How do I get started? (Wedding Vendors)

Click on the Wedding Services or Photographers tab. Click on the Sign Up button. After you’ve opened an account, click the User Settings link at the top and follow the instructions to get to the main Yodio site to create your promotional Yodio. Once you’ve published your Yodio, your listing will appear on the Wedding Services or Photographers page (whichever applies to you)

How do I put my Yodio on my blog or website?

After you have created your Yodio and published it, go to the My Yodios tab then click on the Published Yodios tab. Below the thumbnail of your Yodio, click on "share". When the window opens, you will see where it says, “Embed on external site” click Copy to select the code. Paste the code into your blog or website. We also have quick post options for popular blog and social networking sites like Blogger and MySpace. You can log in right from the Share tab and automatically post.

Why doesn’t the player automatically start when the page loads?

All Yodios default to AutoStart: Off. To change this, click on the My Yodios tab then click on the Published Yodios tab. When you click on Share the window opens. Click on the Customize button then click on the Autostart tab. Select Autostart: Yes. Copy the newly created code and replace it on your site.

How do I change the layout of the Yodio player?

Click on the My Yodios tab then click on the Published Yodios tab. When you click on Share the window opens. Click on the Customize button then click on the Player Format button and select the one you like. Copy the newly created code and replace it on your site.

How can I make my Yodios more interesting?

  1. Smile as you are recording your voice.
  2. Record a separate audio track for each photo.
  3. Use multiple photos—as many as you like.
  4. Keep the audio tracks short for each photo. Use more photos to continue your line of thought with your voice.
  5. As you are creating your Yodio, name each track so a different message displays for each photo.
  6. Use a name for your Yodio that will catch people’s attention.
  7. Try to record your tracks in the same time period so your tracks will have matching volume (whether recording by phone or with a microphone.
  8. If recording by microphone, be sure that the microphone is not too close to your mouth.

Can I have a voice track on each photo?

Yes, you call the 800 number for each track, then drag ‘n drop your recorded audio to the appropriate picture.

Can I make more than one?

Make as many as you like to teach, promote, or have fun!

Can I change my Yodio after I have published it and will it change everywhere?

Yes. Click on the My Yodios tab, then click on Published Yodios. Below the photo of the Yodio you wish to change, click on Edit. Make changes like changing the order of the tracks. You can change the photos and audio by dragging the new ones to where you want them. You can also change the track names. Note: When you start editing, your Yodio will Unpublish. When you are done, simply click on Publish again. Changes to the player style and autostart are actually changed when creating new embed code. If you change the player style to include “no tracks” it will not permanently change the Yodio, only that particular embed of the Yodio, when using the newly created code.

Can I upload my own music to make the Yodio more interesting?

Yes, you can for an individual track, however, not as a background for the entire Yodio. We also have stock music tracks you can use. You can also upload voice audio, with or without music in the background when you record.

How can it be free?

We place a short ad at the end of a Yodio.

What should a photographer do?

Use your opportunity to introduce the person behind the camera. Sure you are going to show them some “highlights” shots of previous weddings. But this is also an opportunity to introduce who you are and why you are enthusiastic about shooting weddings. Remember that when you record your audio, you are talking to potential brides, and you have a qualification to mention with each photo. In other words what’s your story that goes with the photo. For example, we suggest the following for 7-9 photos:

  • Photo of yourself working -- audio introducing yourself by name and your speciality
  • Photo of you talking to a bride – audio to talk about your technique to plan a shoot for a wedding, and why people like working with you
  • Crowd shot of wedding – audio shooting for the feel of grandness
  • Romance shot of bride and groom – audio about capturing the sense of romance (studio shot or at wedding)
  • Shot of cake or favor or similar – audio about capturing the details/pieces that are vital components
  • Reception shot – audio of your attitude and approach to shooting a reception
  • Photo of you – audio of “I’d like to help make your wedding memorable, contact me.”
